Innocentive is a crowdsourcing site that offers financial rewards to winning solutions to actual problems.
Based in Massachusetts, the "open innovation company accepts by commission research and development problems in a broad range of domains such as engineering, computer science, math, chemistry, life sciences, physical sciences and business and frames them as "challenge problems" for anyone to solve. It gives cash awards for the best solutions to solvers who meet the challenge criteria" (See Wikipedia and Wall Street Journal, 2007).
Click here to learn more. Feel free to check out some of the challenges. Register to become a Solver (it's free), and if you find a challenge interesting, why not try to solve it? Or, get others involved and keep the prize (if you win!).
Don't worry. We'll start negotiating with Innocentive for 10% of their fee (not deducted from the winner's cash prize) only after the fifth UA&P Solver wins. Check out the Innocentive site.
