Projected to be a $10B industry by 2020, 3D Printing can further expand in its market penetration by achieving critical technology breakthroughs in materials and tool architectures.  One key limitations of current technology is print speed.  While the current 3D printing speeds may be adequate for prototyping, a disruptive innovation is needed to enable wider adoption of 3D printing for end-use parts in industrial applications. INSTINCT: The IARPA Trustworthiness Challenge Share this Challenge:   INSTINCT: Investigating Novel Statistical Techniques to Identify Neurophysiological Correlates of Trustworthiness Whom do you trust?  Why do you trust them? How do you know whether to trust someone you’ve just met? The answers to these questions are essential in everyday interactions but particularly so in the Intelligence Community, where knowing whom to trust is often vital. The Intelligence Advanced Research Project Activity (IARPA) TRUST program seeks ways to detect one’s own neural, psychological, physiological, and behavioral signals that reflect a partner’s trustworthiness.  The goal of this Challenge is to develop an algorithm that identifies and extracts such signals from data recorded while volunteers engaged in various types of trust activities.  Cross-disciplinary teaming is encouraged in order to bring together expertise from diverse fields (such as neurophysiology and data analytics) to solve this complex problem. This is a Reduction-to-Practice Challenge that requires written documentation and delivery of source codeimplementing an algorithm that solves the problem.  This is also a Prodigy Challenge and a real-time online scoring utility and leaderboard will be available to track Solver algorithm performance. Challenge 9933465 Deadline: May 05, 2014 Reward: See details Quantifying the Number of Post-Secondary Certificates and Certifications with Significant Economic Impact Share this Challenge:   Lumina Foundation, the Seeker for this Challenge, has issued Goal 2025 – to increase the number of adults in the United States obtaining high-quality, documented, post-secondary education from roughly 44% to more than 60%.  A key difficulty in measuring progress towards Goal 2025 is that there is no readily available, national data on the number of individuals who obtain non-degreepost-secondary certificates and certifications that significantly improve their economic circumstances.  This Challenge requests that Solvers provide novel concepts for determining this information using non-traditional datasets or data sources (rather than the US Census used for quantifying associate’s and bachelor’s degrees).  This is an Ideation Challenge with a guaranteed award for at least one submitted solution.Challenge 9933173 Deadline: March 15, 2014 Reward: $10,000
